The moment you crack open S’More porter, the chocolate, graham cracker and marshmallow aroma permeates, and it’s apparent that this isn’t a gimmick that Saranac phoned in. It’s as thick as any ordinary porter, with minimal fiz and 6.2 alc. The taste, however, isn’t as strong as the smell, as it’s more vanilla-y with subtle amounts of chocolate. The beer is still good, however, but after a few, the novelty of it wears off. This is the perfect desert beer and one to serve to friends who want to try new things, but I wouldn’t stock up on this for the cold winter. Maybe keep a few in the back of the fridge for special occasions, or when you’re literally cooking S’Mores over the fire.
