There’s a party in my mouth and everyone’s invited. After my local beer store told me it didn’t have any gingerbread beer – on Christmas Eve – the guy who worked there told me to try Sierra Nevada’s Celebration. This ‘fresh hop ipa’ is a celebration indeed, as a mouth each sip pacts a punch of flavor that should only be paired with tinsel and pine. While technically an IPA – with 6.8% alc – the extra flavor sets it apart from other IPAs with holiday cheer.
Seasonal beers like this are perfect – you won’t get sick of them because you won’t have them that often, and you feel like you’re getting into the spirit of the season, like when you eat that Christmas-themed popcorn.
I’ll give this four stars.
