In an effort to review every Heavy Seas beer, I continue buying cases of its multipacks, filled with ones I already know I like, like Loose Cannon, and ones I haven’t tried yet, which brings us to Cutlass, a Vienna-style lager.
Toasty and earth, Cutlass is a beer that seems to go better with chicken and biscuits than drinking on its own, almost like a side-dish, than a lets-sit-down-and-drink-beer beer. Perhaps that’s just me, or maybe lagers in general, but these are mealtime beers.
At this point, Heavy Seas beers get ranked alongside other Heavy Seas beers, and I find myself wanting a Loose Cannon, or a Double Cannon, or a Triple Cannon.
I’ll give it 2.5 stars. 5.25 alc.
