I have found my first new pumpkin beer for the season and it is Elysian Night Owl Pumpkin Ale. Elysian brewing company out of Seattle, Wa is pretty easy to find down in coastal NC but it seems to have gained even more popularity as of late. This pumpkin ale will add to that I am sure! First of all the bottle is pretty cool looking, very “fall” season. Once you open the bottle the sweet aroma of pumpkin cannot be denied. The dark copper color reaffirms that this beer is chock full of all things pumpkin. Lastly the taste is very smooth, lots of spice (pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg) a little bitter at the end with a small amount of “hoppy” bite but quite satisfying. It brings a 6.7% alc content with its tastiness. This beer has just joined the top five maybe even top three pumpkin beers that we have tried so far. It is…AMAZEBALLS! 4.5 out of 5 stars, enjoy!
