Below is last years review of this beer, the only change for this year is there is more “real” pumpkin flavor with less of the brown sugar. The Washington Post reviewed this beer as the best of 9 they tasted, I believe they were pumpkin beer haters from the start and that skewed the decision. This is a solid beer but far from my favorite. 3.5 stars.
Dogfish Head Craft brewery inc from Milton, DE gives us “Punkin Ale” a full bodied micro beer that boasts a 7% alc content. It is a darker pumpkin beer but I think that’s due to its including brown sugar in the mix, which subsequently dominates the pumpkin flavor, therefore making this pumpkin beer a 6 but mostly because of the higher alc content. Worth a shot.
